- Storm Icon Image Tool
- OR
- (S.I.I.T. for short!)
- This is FREEWARE spread it EVERYWHERE!
-
- This Utiltiy was written by me to be a fast and down to earth icon editor,
- Ofcourse it can also be used to edit small sprites/bobs but it is aimed
- towards creating icons blocks for use in games ect. There are enough sprite
- editors around so why bother?.Well this program deals with icons of a
- specific size ,So that it can be used to construct background graphics in
- games. Also i feel it is easy to use and fairly straight forward to understand
- and get to gripes with,Used with the screen editor utility it can have some
- outstanding results!,And finally it is based around the old commodore 64
- sprite editors!!!!So there are no line, circle, brush commands this is RAW and
- fast!!.
-
- So...
-
- Getting Started
- ---------------
- Upon loading you will be asked what size icons you would like to edit.
- Simply click on one of the gadgets to make your choice.
-
- 8 by 8 stands for 8 pixels along and 8 pixels down
-
- The choices are...
-
- 8 by 8 , 8 by 16 , 8 by 32
- 16 by 8, 16 by 16, 16 by 32
- 32 by 8, 32 by 16, 32 by 32
- (Any bigger and it would be impossible to deal with sensibly, using amos!).
-
- Choose carefully as this is cant be changed during editing!
-
- Next you will be asked for the number of colours used for the icons
- From a choice of:
- 4 , 8 , 16 , 32 ,
-
- All in low-resolution screen mode.
-
- Once done the Icon editor will magically appear!!.
-
- SCREEN SETUP

- The screen is split in two.The bottom halve has the options (icons)that are
- available to the user while the top halve holds the the editing and
- colour selecting area.
-
- PLOTTING

- Where-ever the mouse arrow changes to a cross-hair in the top halve of
- the screen ,Is where you can place a pixel,Simply by clicking the left

- bottom right of the editng screen.
- Near the bottom you will see a status report this will constanly change to
- inform what is going on!.
- To the right you will see a row of colours going down the screen.By
- clicking on a colour you will be able to change the actual editing
- colour. The box with COL written underneath it shows what colour is in
- current use.
